It is with great excitement that we return to offering public Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Due to our current circumstances, some things at mass will be a little different. We are doing our best to follow the applicable guidelines and recommendations that create a safe environment and honor the governing authorities. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Public Mass Reopening Plan
St. Mary’s Cathedral has developed a plan for reopening our public Masses with limited capacity starting May 30th. The plan was developed in accordance with federal and state health guidelines and within the Diocese of Grand Island Guidelines. The plan involves continuing to offer a livestream option, registration for attendance, social distancing and safety measures. Note: You are not obligated to attend Sunday Mass. The church has dispensed us from this obligation.
Temporary Mass Times
Saturday Evening: English – 4pm, Spanish- 6pm
Sunday: English – 7am, 11am, 5pm; Spanish – 9am, 1pm
Weekday: English – 7am Daily, Thursday 5:15pm; Spanish - Wednesday and Friday 5:15pm
Sunday Mass:
We have been using a program called “Eventbrite” to encourage people to reserve a registration to attend the weekend masses.
We have found that this practice is not practical for our community. So, for the time being, we will cease using this service. This past week we did have to lock the doors for the Spanish 9 am mass as all of our spaces were full. Our Spanish 1 pm mass was almost completely full.
We encourage our Spanish speakers to take advantage of the Saturday evening 6 pm mass. This mass is the vigil mass for Sunday. All of the prayers and readings are the same as Sunday’s. This mass “counts” as the Sunday mass.
